Introduction

Just celebrated the year anniversary of our closing on our first home! Can't believe how far we have come since then. The house is complete, but the back yard is still unfinished. I doubt it will ever be "finished" . I have 9 trees and 65 other plants in the back yard! Most of the plants are desert plants or at least, drought tolerant. Many are from Australia. Using Pinterest, I found several small projects using left over cinder blocks to create some character in the yard. I am building a small private patio in one corner as a private retreat. Irrigation is in and once patio is completed, we will lay the gravel down. 10 years ago, this would be an impossible dream. It is amazing how far hard work and believing in yourself can take you. This is the first summer in about 5 years where I do not have school to look forward too. Graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering. I already have a job at one of the worlds premier tech companies as a process technician on the night shift. Am currently working the day shift to train with the area engineers, hoping to get promoted soon.
